CDPS General Permit COR900000 for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Non-Extractive Industrial Activity, effective July 1, 2012 thru June 30, 2017

H. General Monitoring Requirements

4. Measurable Storm Events

a. Rain Event. Permittees must conduct all required monitoring on a storm event that results in an actual discharge from the facility ("measurable storm event"), and that follows the preceding measurable storm event by at least 72 hours (3 days).

b. Snowmelt Event. The permittee must conduct snowmelt monitoring at a time when a measurable discharge occurs from the facility.

Magnitude: results in actual discharge

Interval between storms: at least 72 hours from previously measurable storm

Metal Mining Stormwater

COR040000 Permit

Monitoring: Sampling and testing of stormwater for specific parameters is not required on a routine basis under this permit. The Division reserves the right to require sampling and testing, on a case-by-case basis, in the event that there is reason to suspect that compliance with the SWMP is a problem, or to measure the effectiveness of the BMPs in removing pollutants from the discharge.

Storm Water Sampling Not Required

Sand and Gravel Mining and Processing (and other nonmetallic minerals except fuel)

COR340000 Permit

Monitoring: Sampling and testing of stormwater for specific parameters under Part I.B is not required on a routine basis under this permit. However, the Division reserves the right to require sampling and testing beyond this, on a case-by-case basis, at any facility covered by this permit, in the event that there is reason to suspect noncompliance with the SWMP , or to measure the effectiveness of the BMPs in removing pollutants in the effluent.
