1. Storm Water Measurement

a. All storm water samples shall be collected from the discharge resulting from a storm event that is greater than 0.1 inches.

b. The storm water event must be monitored, including the date and rainfall (in inches) for the storm event(s) sampled. The duration between the storm event sampled and the end of the previous measurable (greater than 0.1 inch rainfall) storm event must be a minimum of 72 hours. This information must be recorded as part of the sampling procedure and records retained according to Part I.B.4.b. of this permit.

D. STORM WATER FLOW MEASUREMENT AND SAMPLING REQUIREMENTS

1. Storm Water Flow Measurement

a. All storm water samples shall be collected from the discharge resulting from a storm event that is greater than 0.1 inches.

b. The total volume of storm water discharged for the event must be monitored, including the date and duration (in hours) and rainfall (in inches) for the storm event(s) sampled. The duration between the storm event sampled and the end of the previous measurable (greater than 0.1 inch rainfall) storm event must be a minimum of 72 hoursÉ

c. The volume may be measured using flow measuring devices, or estimated based on a modification of the Rational Method using total depth of rainfall, the size of the drainage area serving a storm water outfall, and an estimate of the runoff coefficient of the drainage area.
